Rye Bread

Ingredients

2 Cups Rye Flour

2 Cups All-purpose Flour

2 Tablespoons Cacao Powder

2 Tablespoons Caraway Seeds

2 Teaspoons Instant Yeast 1 Teaspoon Salt
1/2 Cup Warm Water 1 1/2 Cups Warm Milk
2 Tablespoons Sugar 2 Tablespoons Vegetable Oil

Step: 1

In A Large Mixing Bowl, Combine The Rye Flour, All-purpose Flour, Cacao Powder, Caraway Seeds (If Using), Instant Yeast, And Salt. Mix Well To Combine.

Step: 2

In A Separate Bowl, Whisk Together The Warm Water, Milk, Sugar, And Vegetable Oil Until Well Blended.

Step: 3

Make A Well In The Center Of The Dry Ingredients And Pour In The Wet Ingredients. Stir With A Wooden Spoon Or Spatula Until The Dough Starts To Come Together.

Step: 4

Turn The Dough Out Onto A Lightly Floured Surface And Knead For About 5-7 Minutes, Until The Dough Becomes Smooth And Elastic. If The Dough Is Too Sticky, You Can Add A Little More Flour.

Step: 5

Shape The Dough Into A Ball And Place It In A Greased Bowl. Cover The Bowl With A Clean Kitchen Towel Or Plastic Wrap And Let The Dough Rise In A Warm Place For About 1 To 1 1/2 Hours, Or Until It Doubles In Size.

Step: 6

Once The Dough Has Risen, Punch It Down To Release Any Air Bubbles. Shape It Into A Loaf And Place It In A Greased Or Parchment-lined Bread Pan.

Step: 7

Cover The Loaf With A Clean Kitchen Towel And Let It Rise Again For About 45 Minutes To 1 Hour, Or Until It Reaches The Top Of The Pan.

Step: 8

Once The Dough Has Finished Its Second Rise, Bake It In The Preheated Oven For About 30-35 Minutes, Or Until The Bread Is Golden Brown And Sounds Hollow When Tapped On The Bottom.

Step: 9

Remove The Bread From The Oven And Let It Cool In The Pan For A Few Minutes. Then Transfer It To A Wire Rack To Cool Completely Before Slicing.

Enjoy Your Homemade Rye Bread! It's Delicious When Served With Butter, Cheese, Or Your Favorite Sandwich Fillings.
