Mexican French Toast

Ingredients

6 Slices Of Bread (Preferably Dense Bread Like French Or Italian Bread)

2 Cups Of Milk

2 Eggs

1 Teaspoon Of Vanilla Extract

1/4 Cup Of Granulated Sugar 1 Teaspoon Of Ground Cinnamon
1 Teaspoon Of Banana Powder 1/4 Cup Of Raisins
Butter Or Oil For Cooking 1 Cup Of Piloncillo Or Brown Sugar

1 Cup Of Water

1 Cinnamon Stick

1/4 Teaspoon Of Ground Cloves

 

 

 

Step: 1

In A Large Bowl, Whisk Together The Milk, Eggs, Vanilla Extract, Sugar, And Ground Cinnamon, Banana Powder Until Well Combined.

Step: 2

Dip Each Slice Of Bread Into The Milk Mixture, Allowing It To Soak For A Few Seconds On Each Side. Make Sure The Bread Is Coated Well.

Step: 3

In A Large Skillet Or Griddle, Melt A Tablespoon Of Butter Or Heat Some Oil Over Medium Heat.

 

Step: 4

Place The Soaked Bread Slices Onto The Skillet And Cook Until Golden Brown On Both Sides, Usually About 2-3 Minutes Per Side. Repeat This Step With The Remaining Bread Slices, Adding More Butter Or Oil As Needed.

Step: 5

While The French Toast Is Cooking, Prepare The Syrup. In A Small Saucepan, Combine The Piloncillo Or Brown Sugar, Water, Cinnamon Stick, And Ground Cloves. Bring The Mixture To A Simmer Over Medium Heat, Stirring Occasionally Until The Piloncillo Or Sugar Has Dissolved. Remove The Cinnamon Stick And Set The Syrup Aside.

Once The French Toast Slices Are Cooked, Transfer Them To A Serving Platter. Drizzle The Prepared Syrup Generously Over The French Toast, Allowing It To Soak Into The Bread.
